An Austrian NGO, Sone International, has provided financial assistance for the medical treatment of journalist Touhidul Islam, who serves as the President of Alikadam Journalists’ Forum and the Upazila Correspondent of Daily Bangladesh Samachar.
The support was formally handed over on Saturday morning at the Sone International Alikadam Upazila Office. The organization’s Field Office Coordinator, Sabarang Tripura, and Project Supervisor cum Accounts Assistant, Md. Reaz Hossain, presented the medical aid cheque to journalist Touhidul Islam.
According to sources, nearly two months ago, Touhidul Islam suffered a serious accident after slipping and falling. The incident caused a fracture in his right thigh, splitting the bone into two parts. Following surgery and the insertion of a rod, his treatment expenses reportedly exceeded 400,000 Bangladeshi Taka, creating a significant financial burden.
Expressing his gratitude, journalist Touhidul Islam thanked Sone International and its officials for their humanitarian support during his recovery. He conveyed heartfelt appreciation to all members of the organization for standing beside him in a difficult time.
